Technology Innovation & Systems Architecture Leader

Scales breakthrough technologies into reliable, enterprise-ready systems with lasting impact.

“Technology is only valuable when it solves a genuine customer problem. Success is achieved by linking cutting-edge technologies with specific customer needs, and then helping to deploy those solutions at scale. These principles are the exact foundations upon which we built Totale Strata”

Ruban Kanapathippillai is a veteran engineering and technology leader with 30 years of experience spanning compute, networking, and storage systems. A founding team member of two highly successful Silicon Valley startups—VxTel (Voice over Internet Protocol for telecommunications), acquired by Intel for $550 million, and Virident (enterprise storage), acquired by Western Digital Corporation for $720 million—Ruban has a proven track record of scaling technologies from concept to enterprise-class products.

Holding more than 30 United States patents in semiconductor design, system architectures, algorithms, and applications, Ruban is recognized for bringing breakthrough innovation into real-world use. His career includes roles as an engineering leader, product architect, and customer technology evangelist, helping organizations adopt new capabilities with confidence and clarity.

At Totale Strata, Ruban strengthens technology-forward modernization efforts with deep technical insight, disciplined systems thinking, and a rare ability to translate complex engineering into practical solutions. His personal journey—from the war-torn Northern Province of Sri Lanka to advanced study at Stanford University—shapes a perspective rooted in resilience, precision, and meaningful impact.
